Closed RP w/ Bruce

Pain. Pain and loss, these were the only thing Loki was registering. The All-Father had thought he was taking pity on his adopted son when he stripped him of his magic and cast him here, many Aesir agreed. Many agreed and thought it was to lenient of the All-Father. So to appease them he had ordered his mouth sewn shut. Only an act of pure mercy and compassion could remove them. He had not been stripped of his voice, but any vocalization vibrated the strings and caused him more pain.

Some thought it was still to merciful, even as he lay on the floor of the grand hall, humiliated and bleeding, but the All-Father did no more before casting him back down to Earth.

So there he lay, in a dark, dirty alley somewhere in a large city, still in pain and bleeding, wondering when a mortal would come by, realize who he was, and kill him on the spot. The All-Father thought to teach his younger son the same lesson his older had learned among the mortals but he knew different. He would either be killed on sight or found by SHIELD.

At this point he didn't know which he preferred.

That confirmed something in his mind. "So you were thrown from Asgard, but how exactly is this a death sentence? Someone could have easily done what I did."

[you_have_heart]

"Or they could have killed me. Surly you have realized by now that I am without magic?" He was utterly defenseless. And what if someone had come along and tried to remove the threads but could not?

[aggravated]

A brow lifted. "I didn't know. I told you I don't know anything about magic. It still doesn't leave you to death, only exile."

[you_have_heart]

"I am here, alone, weakened and without my magic in a world where many would attempt to kill me on sight. How is this not a death sentence?"

[aggravated]

"You're in a world where billions of people live and even if you chose to stay on this side of the ocean, in a country so large you could vanish without anyone knowing. It sounds more like an exile to me." Bruce shrugged. "I think your brother would be disappointed if you vanished completely though."

Which made him wonder why Thor wasn't with Loki.

"He is not my brother," the only appropriate response to that sentiment.

But maybe he could vanish. Start a new life, away from the expectations and baggage. Then, just as he got comfortable, just as he would find happiness, something would happen to ruin it.

It was in his nature, after all.

[aggravated]

To which Bruce snorted quietly. "I guess you two have a difference of opinion on that, as he defended you on that very subject last time we discussed you."

"How quaint." Pushing himself up he swung his legs over the side of the bed. He was weak, but he could at least stand.

Kind of. He was rather unsteady, not having eaten in anything in a while it was understandable. Unacceptable, but understandable.

But he most certainly was not staying there if he had anything to say about it.

Bruce swung up out of bed and actually gave a somewhat forceful shove to Loki's chest back towards the bed. So maybe a hint of that infamous anger was allowed to show through. "Just lay back down. If I planned to have SHIELD come get you, I would have already."

No, that will happen when I'm sure you can stand to remain upright and we can figure out why this was Asgard's decision.

It did not take much force to get Loki to fall back on the bed. He tried to catch himself, but just ended up bouncing in a rather pathetic manner. Wincing slightly at the bruising the other had inadvertently aggravated, He glared up as Bruce, but made no movement to stand back up.

"Well what now then?"

[aggravated]

"For now, you're going to stay there and heal." Bruce sighed, walking over to the windows and looking out to the city. The why of what he was doing was still heavily in question.

"Of course, doctor." He sneers and lays back down, making sure to keep an eye on Bruce the entire time. He still did not know why the man had not simply called SHIELD while he was unconscious.

He did not like not knowing things.

[aggravated]

Bruce didn't either, but that was something they were both going to have to deal with. "Would you rather I put the stitches back in your face?" Bruce said with a bit of a snip, feeling a hint of control fall away.

Loki stayed silent. He knew the man wouldn't, not after everything he had gone through to heal him. He simply turned over so he was facing away from the other.

[aggravated]

"They were supposed to lock you away, or whatever they decided but Thor never suggested they would throw you here. SHIELD wouldn't have given you over if they knew that was even a possibility, you know." Bruce looked out the window, ignoring that Loki turned his back on him.

[you_have_heart]

"The All-Father cares not what others think of his methods." That much was abundantly clear to all who were even vaguely aware of Odin's doings.

[aggravated]

"So I've noticed," Bruce said dryly. He drifted into silence, hands linked behind his back as he looked over the pieces of the skyline he could see from their floor of the hotel.

Then, he asked the question that had been bothering him most. "Why did you do it?"

"I do not believe you will find my answer any more satisfying now than when last you asked." Loki stayed facing the other direction as he spoke. He was telling the truth; his answer had not changed.

[aggravated]

"You didn't really give me an answer last time either," Bruce said quietly. "I want to know." Understand.

[you_have_heart]

"You and I both know this conversation will only go in circles till one of us grows silent."

[aggravated]

"Then perhaps you should just tell me more. You and I are both men of knowledge."

[you_have_heart]

"And how does this situation end? I tell you my reasons, then you tell me how I was wrong and what could have been done differently, then I see the error of my ways and...?"

He rolls over to face Bruce, his gaze hard.

"Tell me, good doctor, how does this situation end?"

[aggravated]

"The situation ends when I figure out how it ends. Right now, I know your reasons were wrong because they ended in people dying. Do you care about human life, Loki? Or are we too far below you for people to matter?" Bruce's eyes were just as hard.

[you_have_heart]

"When a life is so miserably short already, what is the harm in ending it just a bit sooner?" Get him angry, get him angry and make the monster come out. If Loki could do that this little farce would end and he would either be taken or killed.

Even he was not so delusional as to think there was a way he could get out of this in his condition.

[aggravated]

"You've lived hundreds of years, if Thor is to be believed. There's no 'miserably short' for you." Bruce crossed his arms over his chest. "Suicide is a coward's way out."
